Red Panda
The Red Panda, native to the Eastern Himalayas, is an irresistibly cute yet surprisingly resilient animal. Though often confused with the giant panda, they aren’t actually related—despite sharing parts of the same habitat.
Forest, the only Red Panda in Lincolnshire, makes his home at Lincoln Zoo.

Time For My Close-Up!
Biologically classed as a carnivore because of its sharp teeth and claws, the Red Panda is actually a ‘vegetarian’ carnivore, choosing to mainly eat bamboo!
Topsy Turvy!
Once mature, we plan to introduce a male and allow Ruby and Rose to breed, contributing to the international breeding program they are currently a part of.
Since arriving at Lincoln Zoo in 2019, the pair are slowly becoming more confident. They are often seen relaxing in, and eating, the centre-piece of their enclosure, which is a sixty foot tall Ash tree!
